AMERICA’S GOT TALENT has picked their Final Four! There were no surprises tonight. The four that earned their place, got their place in the finals. No upsets. No tragedies. Just pure and just. Four acts will move onto the finals next week and one will be reigned season six champion on AGT next Wednesday night.
The first to be cut from the show was Smage Bros. Riding Show, mistakes were made – prices were paid. Miami All-Stars and Lys Agnes, both of whom had disappointing performances last night, were next to go. It was no big surprise when Team Iluminate was first to make the Final Four. It was a bit pathetic, though, to have both Agnes and MAS come out on stage together only to be told both of them FAILED to make it. Ouch! Agnes looked completely devastated. Not cool NBC, not cool!
Second to hear the good news was the ultra pop band PopLyfe. The group took the next slot, leaving illusionist Landon Swank out in the cold. Swank was cut from the show. An aside from the task at hand was a little video montage of host Nick Cannon wandering AGT’s trailer park of dressing rooms in search of comedic fodder. He found little, until landing at Howie Mandel’s doorstep with a seemingly unclothed Mandel bending over to get a snack from the fridge. On the opposite side of the entertainment stratosphere, Il Divo performed triumphantly.
Then, finally the news came for the Silhouettes. They were third to make it to the Final Four. West Springfield Dance Team was sent packing. Their performance just wasn’t diverse enough for America apparently.
Lastly, left once again on stage were the final two acts – Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. and Anna Graceman. Last week they were on stage together as well when Cannon told Graceman she had made it and then after a few moments casually told Murphy, Jr., he too, had made it. This week, no such trickery. Only one was to make the Final Four. As the two took the stage looking like they were in a funeral procession, they held hands.
In the end, 11-year-old Graceman couldn’t compete with the vintage sound of Murphy, Jr. She was let go and he completed the group of four.
There you have it – Silhouettes, Landau Murphy, Jr., Team Iluminate, and PopLyfe are the official AMERICA’S GOT TALENT finalists. Next week, the FINAL FOUR perform! Finally, THE SEASON FINALE! Stay tuned!
