Even though the Fox network has no involvement with the proposed 24 movie featuring Kiefer Sutherland reprising his role as Jack Bauer, it didn’t stop Fox Entertainment chairman Peter Rice from being asked about it while speaking the press today about Fox’s 2011-2012 schedule.
“I don’t work at the movie company,” Rice cautious, “but my sense about it, is everyone would like to make a 24 movie. I believe they’re working on a script. There’s a great desire to see Jack Bauer on the big screen.”
Sutherland is set to return to Fox with the new Tim Kring (HEROES) created supernatural series TOUCH that Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly is really excited about, though no airdate is set.
“TOUCH was an extraordinary script and [the series] stars Sutherland as a father discovering his child with special needs can also see patterns and connections no one else can,” says Reilly. “The script got Kiefer back to the network. Francis Lawrence will direct.”
In terms of where the series will land on the schedule, Reilly notes, “we will schedule TOUCH opportunistically.”
