While speaking to the press about his new reality singing competition series THE X FACTOR today (which is set to debut in the fall on Fox), producer and judge Simon Cowell talked about how he feels his previous show AMERICAN IDOL is doing in his absence with Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez serving as new judges alongside Randy Jackson.
“I think they’ve done a good job,” he says. “I haven’t see a full episode, but I saw a three minute recap. From what I’ve seen, from what I heard, it all seems to be going well. I thought that would be the case. What I was concerned about was that ratings falling off the cliff. The good news, people thank god still like these shows, and it gives me more confidence when we launch ours.”
