Time has finally run out for Chaz Bono and his partner Lacey Schwimmer on DANCING WITH THE STARS. Bono became the sixth contestant eliminated from the show, which featured Broadway themed performances this week. The time had come. No more could his fan base hold him up and pull him through. The fans did all they could and Bono, it seemed, had as well.
The evening started with an encore performance by J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff, who were soon told they were first to be safe. Renowned Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth performed a beautiful melody before the announcement came that Ricki Lake & Derek Hough, as well as Nancy Grace & Tristan Macmanus were also safe.
Then, the weekly video segment was shown. This one featured the stars talking about how far they’ve come and how hard the journey has been for them. The Macy’s Stars of Dance performance was choreographed by famous choreographer Kenny Ortega – who has gained even more notoriety for being the director of Michael Jackson’s This Is It tour. Corbin Bleu danced to Ortega’s steps in a montage of Broadway hits.
Martina McBride was also on hand to sing a little song while Val Chmerkovskiy and Chelsie Hightower shook their things. As the cast dwindles, more talent guest star on DWTS to fill in for time. Finally, fourth safe was David Arquette & Kym Johnson.
Mark Ballas and Lacey Schwimmer did a Halloween sneak preview dance with some kid dancers before, finally, word came that Bono & Schwimmer were eliminated from the show. Hope Solo & Maks Chmerkovskiy made it through by the skin of their teeth, despite last night’s tenacious moments with the judges.
And then, there were six. Season 13 all comes down to Arquette, Solo, Martinez, Lake, Kardashian and Grace. That’s it! Stay tuned!
