The World Premiere of Disney’s PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES was held May 7^th at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. This is Part 1 of our photo coverage.

Arriving at Disneyland at 4:00pm the press gathered in the Media Center, which was located inside the Mr. Lincoln’s Theater at the beginning of Main Street. Finally, all of the press was escorted out to the “black” carpet to take our spots and wait for the premiere to start. The arrivals were 3 hours long to accommodate all the stars and the guests.

The arrival carpet (nearly 3,000 feet long) ran all the way down Main Street. Fans (about 20,000) were in bleachers, and lined Main Street surrounding both sides of the street. This was the first-ever 3D outdoor World Premiere event at Disneyland. The 90 ft.-wide motion picture screen was 9 stories wide, towering 6 stories above Disneyland’s Rivers of America and was built on Tom Sawyer’s Island. The guests and stars sat in a state-of-the-art, heated, outdoor amphitheater, which was fully carpeted with cushioned stadium seating, which was built right on Disneyland’s Rivers of America, and was located outside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.

Premiere tickets (at $1,000 each) sold out in three days and Disney donated 100% of the proceeds to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, whose mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need it most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

Walking the carpet were the stars of the film, which included: Johnny Depp, Penélope Cruz, Ian McShane, Geoffrey Rush, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Sam Claflin, Kevin McNally, Robbie Kay, Oscar Jaenada, Greg Ellis, Yuki Matsuzaki, Ian Mercer, Keith Richards, Danny Leboyer, Chiquita, Jerry Bruckheimer (Producer), Tim Powers (Author), Mike Stenson (Executive Producer), Rob Marshall (Director), John DeLuca (Executive Producer), Barry Waldman (Executive Producer), Hans Zimmer (Composer), and Mermaids: Daphne Joy, Antoinette Nikprelaj, Toni Busker, Sanya Hughes, Jorgelina Airaldi, and Breanne Beth Berrett.

Joining the stars were guests, which included: Mickey Mouse, Samantha Harris, Lynn Collins, Rebecca Budig, Jake T.
