RIO is a story of a domesticated macaw named Blu (voiced by Jesse Eisenberg), from Moose Lake, Minnesota who meets the fiercely independent Jewel (voiced by Anne Hathaway). Blu takes off on an adventure to Rio de Janeiro with this bird of his dreams. Unfortunately, Blu has never learned to fly!
Walking the carpet were the stars, which included: Anne Hathaway, Jamie Foxx, George Lopez, Director Carlos Saldanha and Sergio Mendes (soundtrack).
After the “Sneak Beak” a press conference was held with Jim Gianopulos, FOX Film Entertainment co-chairman – CEO, Peter Vesterbacka and Mikael Hed – CEO from ROVIO MOBILE, which created ANGRY BIRDS. ROVIO MOBILE and Twentieth Century FOX are uniting ANGRY BIRDS with RIO and will release ANGRY BIRDS RIO. ROVIO and FOX have posted a video at: http://rio.angrybirds.com.
In ANGRY BIRDS RIO, the original Angry Birds are kidnapped and taken to the magical city of Rio, where they eventually escape their captors and set out to save their friends. It will feature hours of gameplay, physics-based demolition challenges and loads of replay value – all with unique twists based on the highly anticipated film.
With Brazilian music playing, and waiters dressed in Brazilian garb the press (and photographers) were treated to a Brazilian lunch.
