CD Review: CLUE Original Soundtrack

Clue Soundtrack | © 2011 La La Land Records

For all of the toy-to-movie adaptations ever made by Hollywood, 1985’s CLUE still stands as the only one done from a board game (sorry doubters, but JUMANJI was made up for that film). Director Jonathan Lynne’s staging of CLUE’s lethal antics as an all-star bedroom farce further propelled the picture to cult status. Now a phenomenon that’s grown to ROCKY HORROR stage show heights gets another wonderful knife in the attic with the release of John Morris’ wonderfully antic underscore, a Baroque-style dark and stormy night of screwball music. As the prime musical suspect behind such Mel Brooks satires as […]Read On »

Dustin Clare in SPARTACUS: GODS OF THE ARENA - "Missio" | ©2011 Starz

SPARTACUS: GODS OF THE ARENA has ended a trifle happier than one would guess from the previous season of BLOOD AND SAND. True the six episode series was bookended with death, but that doesn’t mean the story within didn’t have a bit of a happy ending. Steven S. DeKnight, series creator and executive producer,  has had a blast writing within the world of SPARTACUS and was more than happy to  re-visit favorite characters and the Ludus of Batiatus once more. ASSIGNMENT X got to chat this week with DeKnight now that the second season has ended and we picked his […]Read On »

From the boys: Jacob Lusk, James Durbin, Casey Abrams, Scotty McCreery and Stefano Langone. […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: John Waite talks about the Babys and his 1980s solo career – Part 2

John Waite - ROUGH & TUMBLE

With one of the most unmistakable voices in pop music, John Waite enters his fifth decade in the record business with an excellent new 11-song album ROUGH & TUMBLE (out now). The former Babys and Bad English frontman, Waite is perhaps best known for his hit 1980s song “Missing You” and the 1984 NO BRAKES album from which it came from. Yet, despite the fame that came with that track, Waite continued to follow his own muse – ignoring trends and fads, and creating a rich body of work including the superb solo records TEMPLE BAR and FIGURES IN THE […]Read On »

STAR WARS - EPISODE 1 - THE PHANTOM MENACE movie poster | ©1999 LucasFilm Ltd.

Yes, 3D has finally come to a Galaxy far, far away with LucasFilm finally post-converting the first film in his STAR WARS saga into that format. STAR WARS: EPISODE I – THE PHANTOM MENACE has set the date of February 10, 2012 for this huge event, which will once again introduce a whole new generation to the theatrical experience of this venerable franchise. I’m sure fans would have preferred the original trilogy to go first, but so be it. It’s STAR WARS. Seeing it on the big screen, in the original order and in 3D will be worth it (regardless […]Read On »
