Instead of some lame disease, or a runaway, or murder because of a gambling debt of all things, we got a genuine conflict between the Sixers and the colony as well as a definite look at how deadly the land they live in can be. Something that […]Read On »

ESCAPING THE RUSH storyboard | ©2011 Brian J. De Palma

Sometimes it hurts, sometimes it helps when your name is Brian De Palma – that is Brian J. De Palma. The independent filmmaker was at the American Film Market 2011 pre-selling his film ESCAPING THE RUSH and says that having a similar name to CARRIE director Brian De Palma hasn’t totally hurt him over the years. “It sometimes gets people on the phone or they think it’s him joking around,” says De Palma. “I don’t know if it hurts or helps at all – it’s just a talking point sometimes.” Ten minutes of ESCAPING THE RUSH is complete and it […]Read On »

It does not come until the end of this utterly dreary episode, but it is a glimmer of hope. Until then, Morgan is not handling the download of the Intersect very […]Read On »

TV Review: ONCE UPON A TIME – Season 1 – “Snow Falls”

Ginnifer Goodwin and Amos Stern in ONCE UPON A TIME - Season 1 - "Snow Falls" | ©2011 ABC/Chris Helcermanas-Benge

Stars: Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Robert Carlyle, Lana Parrilla, Jared Gilmore, Josh Dallas, Raphael Sbarge Writer: Liz Tigelaar Director: Dean White Network: ABC, Sunday nights, 8 p.m. Original Telecast: November 6, 2011 The inherent problem with exposition is that it’s utterly necessary and yet it can lead to some pretty lackluster episodes. Take the “Snow Falls” episode of ONCE UPON A TIME. Presumably, it’s pretty significant how Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) met in their original fairy tale world, especially since Snow’s counterpart Mary Margarat accidentally wakes up Charming’s counterpart – the mysterious John Doe – who has been in a coma since, like, forever. Of […]Read On »

November 3rd was a very crowded day on Hollywood Blvd. as Twilight fans took over the street to be at THE TWILIGHT SAGA HANDPRINT AND FOOTPRINT CEREMONY at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. I heard that fans were camped out the night before to get a good spot to see Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, and they were not disappointed. A few lucky ones got to be behind the stage, while others were in the middle of Hollywood Blvd. Jimmy Kimmel was the host of the event and introduced the lady that created the books, and started this vampire phenomenon…Stephenie […]Read On »
