Dr. Zoidberg and the Professor in FUTURAMA - Season 6B - "Tip of the Zoidberg" | Futurama TM and ©2011 Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp. All Rights Reserved

Stars (voices): Billy West, Katey Sagal, John Di Maggio, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche Network: Comedy Central, Thursdays @ 10 PM Airdate: August 18, 2011 Original, funny, and interesting, it seems like the writers heard our cry that we were fed up with the bland FUTURAMA versions of old classics.  This week, in “The Tip of the Zoidberg” they actually made up a storyline from scratch.  It’s also a great back story that explains a good deal, and does so with some hilarious lines. The show starts off with Dr. Zoidberg (voiced by Billy West) treating the crew of the Planet […]Read On »

Hughes  Director: Chris Fisher Network: Syfy, Mondays @ 9 PM Airdate: August 29, 2011 With only 3 episodes left of the season past this point, WAREHOUSE 13 definitely raises the stakes this week with, “The 40th Floor.” The whole subplot with the anti-Warehouse squad seems to be boiling to a head that is just about to completely explode. Sally Stukowski (Ashley Williams) at the point the episode starts has been kidnapping Regents, (the overseers of Warehouse 13…think […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: Mark Sheppard gives the SUPERNATURAL Season 7 scoop on Crowley

Mark Sheppard in SUPERNATURAL - Season 5 - "The Devil You Know" | ©2010 The CW/Michael Courtney

Mark Sheppard is one of television’s reigning kings of returning characters. As CW’s SUPERNATURAL fans know, Sheppard’s character Crowley was also King of Hell for awhile, though he got demoted and then almost smote when angel Castiel (Misha Collins) ascended to godhood in the Season Six finale. The London-born Sheppard will be back in SUPERNATURAL’s upcoming seventh season and recently returned as Jim Sterling in the summer finale LEVERAGE. Right now, though, he’s talking about Crowley, who started out as a Crossroads Demon – or did he? The British-born Sheppard has some interesting theories about this – but he’s wary […]Read On »

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT Recap: “Semi-Finals – Round 2” – Results Show

Landau Eugene Murphy, J. and Anna Graceman move on in AMERICA'S GOT TALENT - Season 6 - Semi-Finals - Round 2 Results Show | ©2011 NBC/Lewis Jacobs

That’s it! No more tryouts. No more wild cards. No more You Tube acts. And no more dragging it out NBC, AMERICA’S GOT TALENT’s final ten have been picked and will compete against each other starting next week. Yes, there were many great acts to choose from and yes, it was a very difficult choice to make, but I managed to pick all five last night that made the cut. Why? Well, it really is simple to figure – which acts have lasting power and which have or ultimately will run out of steam? First easily making the cut was […]Read On »

Single Review: Erasure – “When I Start To (Break It All Down)”

Erasure single - "When I Start To (Break it All Down)" | ©2011 Mute Records

Distributor: Mute Records Release Date: August 30, 2011 While many modern pop artists look to the 1980s for inspiration (Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, The Killers, etc), the artists that were part of defining that decade (and are still viable artists) are few and far between. There are the warhorses (Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, etc.), but groups amazing, ahead-of-their-time groups like Depeche Mode and Erasure forged through their electronic-infused work throughout the 1990s and the 2000s with their musical integrity intact and a constant forward momentum. I’d say Depeche Mode has experimented the most in this time, but the Erasure duo of […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: It’s a dog’s life for WILFRED star Jason Gann

Jason Gann in WILFRED | ©2011 FX/Frank Ockenfels

To employ a cliché, Jason Gann is a lot better-looking in person than he is on television. To be fair, this may have something to do that when he’s on television, he’s playing the title character in FX’s Thursday 10 PM comedy WILFRED, so he’s dressed in a fuzzy black-and-white dog suit with floppy ears and a painted-on black nose. This is because Wilfred is a dog, although to his owner’s neighbor, Wilfred looks and talks like an Australian bloke in a dog suit. Not that this is one of Hollywood’s more time-consuming transformations, Gann notes with a laugh. “It’s […]Read On »
