TCA 2011 News: THE CHEW producer talks about replacing ABC’s daytime soaps ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE

Soap fans were obviously upset that ABC cancelled their long-running daytime soaps ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE, and that’s extended to the promise of boycotting the reality shows replacing them on ABC’s daytime schedule. TCA 2011 News: ABC very pleased with the summer performance of ROOKIE BLUE

One of the biggest summer scripted success stories has been ABC’s Canadian co-production cop show ROOKIE BLUE starring Missy Peregrym  that has performed solidly last summer and this summer as well. While ABC has filled its new schedule some pretty amazing new programs, the one series that is having many critics scratching their heads is WORK IT – a cross-dressing comedy about two men, who dress like women, to get a job in the working woman’s world. TCA 2011 News: ABC still working on THE INCREDIBLE HULK TV series (and a Marvel character will also be on CASTLE this year)

With Marvel now part of the Disney (and ABC fold), ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee said today during his Television Critics Association executive session that he’s very eager to bring Marvel characters to the network. It’s one thing to take off old school musical exploitation, but it’s another to actually get the groove down to the point where you think you’ve just stumbled upon some beat-up soundtrack LP found under the seat of a filth-encrusted grindhouse theater, circa 1975 Times Square. While Adrian Young perfectly nailed this Blaxploitation vibe for BLACK DYNAMITE, Giallos Flame’s score for the infinitely more sordid BLACK DEVIL DOLL goes way beyond the Afro rhythms to completely nail the sound of Italo horror.
