Stars: Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly, Saul Rubinek, Genelle Williams, Allison Scagliotti, Aaron Ashmore, Jaime Murray, Ashley Williams Writer: Holly Harold Director: Jeremiah S. Chechik Network: Syfy, Mondays @ 9 PM Airdate: August 1, 2011 WAREHOUSE 13 still remains one of my favorite “fun” genre series that I can watch, enjoy, and not have to follow year’s worth of inter-connecting plotlines and conspiracies. I like the fact that the show runners and writers have kept the series fresh, light, and entertaining during its three year run. This week’s episode “Queen for a Day” is no exception. Plus it does what so […]Read On »

The Dork Side takes on movie trailers including THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, THE SMURFS and more

Andrew Garfield is Spider-Man in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN | ©2011 Sony Pictures/Marvel

Sometimes the best thing about going to the movies is seeing the movie trailers. Other times … not so much. Here are five movie previews that I watched so you don’t have to. THE SMURFS From the director of BIG MOMMA’S HOUSE and SCOOBY-DOO is another movie that will make you make you wish you were never born. This movie looks so smurfin’ bad. I would rather eat a smurfin’ gun than see it. Neil Patrick Harris deserves better than this. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN OK, I’m not going to lie to you, dear readers. I am going to see this […]Read On »

On TNT’s FRANKLIN & BASH, a new legal dramedy (airing its season finale tonight at 9 PM), the two title characters, played by Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar, are free-wheeling lawyers who are recruited into an upscale legal firm by one of its senior partners, Stanton Enfeld. Enfeld, a wily, eccentric fellow, is played by legendary British actor Malcolm McDowell (A CLOCKWORK ORANGE, TIME AFTER TIME, STAR TREK: GENERATIONS, etc., etc., etc.). McDowell is as gracious as he is frequently employed. When a reporter steps up to talk with him about his new show, he includes FRANKLIN & BASH producer/director […]Read On »

The next twelve performed on AMERICA’S GOT TALENT tonight hoping for that coveted chance to go to the sixth season semi-finals. A few brought their “A” game and some forgot to bring anything! The competition is heating up. This might be the hardest group to predict who is going through and who is going home. Most stepped up their acts, only a few faltered. It will be interesting to see what America chose as their top three, remember the judges get a pick as well. Shockingly Piers Morgan only buzzed three acts as opposed to his usual four. More shocking […]Read On »

Movie Review: CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE

Rating: PG-13 Stars: Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone, Jonah Bobo, John Carroll Lynch, Marisa Tomei, Kevin Bacon Writer: Dan Fogelman Directors: Glenn Ficarra & John Fuqua Distributor: Warner Bros. Release Date: July 29, 2011 Let’s begin by saying some good things about CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE. It has a top-notch cast and the screenplay by Dan Fogelman is mostly well-structured, except for one whopping pivotal issue that is never satisfactorily explained. However, the film bogs down in its details (and lack thereof) and the growing realization that we don’t particularly like or believe in any of the characters. […]Read On »

While speaking with NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt at this summer’s 2011 TCA, ASSIGNMENT X asked about the status of THE EVENT wrap-up movie. Although things aren’t set in stone, Greenblatt does hint that a final decision about its ultimate fate could be decided quite soon. “It’s been discussed with Syfy and a few weeks ago it seemed more possible than it does today, but I honestly don’t know,” says Greenblatt. However, Greenblatt is quick to point out that THE EVENT, if it does get this last-minute reprise, will not air on NBC. “If it happens, it would definitely be […]Read On »

James Spader in THE OFFICE - Season 7 - "Search Committee" | ©2011 NBC/Chris Haston

With THE OFFICE losing Steve Carell this season, and James Spader coming in to fill that gap, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt is confident the  show will continue to prosper on Thursday nights. “My expectations are always very measured, so that we can under-expect and hopefully over-deliver,” says Greenblatt. “THE OFFICE is a very important to us. Like I said a few minutes ago, it’s our number one show in all kinds of demos. Shows go through transitions as they age and I think losing Steve is one of those. And I was at the first table reading a couple […]Read On »
