The second season of TV Land’s hot new sitcom HOT IN CLEVELAND will get even hotter with the addition of some cool crossovers and guest stars.
While speaking at today’s Television Critics press tour, TV Land President Larry W. Jones announced that there will be an ALL MY CHILDREN crossover with an appearance by Susan Lucci.
The show features Wendie Malick as soap actress Victoria Chase.
“Last season ended where my character won her first Emmy on a soap opera, unfortunately we had a tornado [and I couldn’t attend],” says Malick. “Susan Lucci accepted it on behalf and she’s my enemy. Susan, who happens to be a very wonderful comedian wanted to come back and play with us and wrote a great two-part show we’re shooting now, where she comes to visit us.”
And after this two-part, Malick’s soap character will also appear on ALL MY CHILDREN to cement the crossover.
As for Mary Tyler Moore, she plays a prison cell mate to Betty White’s Elka Ostrovsky and White reveled in reuniting with her former THE MARY TYLER MOORE co-star.
“Mary and I stayed friends over the years, but we haven’t worked together in 33 years,” says White. “It’s been great fun, She’s a dynamite lady. She lives in New York and I live in Los Angeles and it was a great reunion.”
