There’s not much to say about the 83rd Annual Academy Awards, except that as much as they promised to be young and hip by hiring James Franco and Anne Hathaway to host, it was still the same old Academy Awards.

Translation: few surprises, a dearth of actual laughs and predominantly canned speeches lacking any emotion or wit.

That said, THE KING’S SPEECH took home the Best Picture title, while frontrunners Colin Firth won for Best Actor in SPEECH and Natalie Portman for Best Actress in BLACK SWAN.
