TV Review: DANCING WITH THE STARS – Season 13 – Week 7 Recap – “Halloween Celebration”

It was a spooky night on DANCING WITH THE STARS. Point in case, J. R. Martinez, because of a so-so group dance, is in 4^th place out of 6 couples! Say it ain’t so…oh, it is so. Team Paso (Rob Kardashian & Cheryl Burke, Hope Solo & Maks Chmerkovskiy, Ricki Lake & Derek Hough) kicked Team Tango’s (J.R. Martinez & Karina Smirnoff, David Arquette & Kym Johnson, Nancy Grace & Tristan Macmanus) butt! The couples had one solo dance and then added onto that was their team dance scores. Team Paso scored an impressive 26, while Team Tango only scored a 23.

Their horror-themed numbers tonight reflected on the occasion, however, it was the disappointing totals for some that were most scary. Once again, Lake and Hough are in first place – all alone. In last place are Grace and Macmanus. Just a few points ahead of them are Arquette and Johnson and then just one more point on top of Arquette’s score is Martinez and Smirnoff. It’s week seven, the heat is on.

Well done. He truly is becoming a contender. Len Goodman thought he did a terrific job. Tonioli said he had never been so in control as he was with the Tango. Inaba thought it was his best dance thus far.
Inaba – 9, Goodman – 8, Tonioli – 8, Harland – 8

Nancy Grace (TV host) and her partner Tristan Macmanus
Her musicality was way off. Inaba thought her Jive wasn’t very good. Tonioli thought the devil got her. Goodman agreed that this wasn’t “her” dance.
Inaba – 7, Goodman – 7, Tonioli – 7, Harland – 7

David Arquette (actor) and his partner Kym Johnson
Truly magical. Goodman did think it needed rhythm. Tonioli said his Cha Cha Cha made Arquette a natural at winning tricks. Inaba commended Arquette, calling his improvement phenomenal.
Inaba – 8, Goodman – 8, Tonioli – 8, Harland – 8

Hope Solo (Soccer Olympian) and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy
She has very little rhythm. Goodman thought she coped well during her Samba. Tonioli said her timing was getting better. Inaba said good job.

J.R. Martinez (U.S. veteran/actor) and his partner Karina Smirnoff
Not his most exciting dance. Goodman said it was sub standard. Tonioli thought it was another solid performance. Inaba said he captured the tone perfectly.
Inaba – 9, Goodman – 8, Tonioli – 8, Harland – 9

Ricki Lake (TV host/actress) and her partner Derek Hough
Very impressive. She gave it her all. Goodman said it was lovely. Inaba thought her shaping was gorgeous. Tonioli called her Paso Doble a blizzard of passion and fear.
Inaba – 9, Goodman – 9, Tonioli – 9, Harland – 9

Who will go home? Well, unless Grace has a great enormity of fans to save her, she will be going home. It is her time, anyway. Stay tuned.
