During the press event for the new Fox comedy BREAKING IN at WonderCon 2011 in San Francisco, Odette Annable (who is the female lead in the series) gave us a little peak about what the show is like.
“We haven’t really seen anything like this for a while,” Annable says of the series about a high-tech security firm of misfits. “It is a little like THE OFFICE meets THE A-TEAM or GONE IN 60 SECONDS when you have that great dynamic and everyone works in the office and there is that offbeat comedy that comes from there. We are also in the field and you get that comedy from there. It is like shooting a mini-movie every single week. It is very ambitious. Our hours are very long but we are having a great time.”
Annable also gave us the low down about her character on the show, Melanie.
“She’s a very interesting girl – she’s very much a guy’s girl,” Annable says. “A little bit of a bad ass. But you don’t really understand why she does what she does. She’s the team’s lock picker, she’s the safecracker. But in the upcoming episodes we are introducing her father. So you see where she comes from because he’s an ex-con artist. So you understand the reason she is the way she is. For her 10th birthday she got a lock picking case as a present. She’s grown up with this life. She is very good at what she does and no one can question that.”
BREAKING IN debuts on Fox on Wednesday, April 6 after AMERICAN IDOL.
