I have to give the creators of REVENGE points for not dragging out who killed Tyler (Ashton Holmes). There’s enough drama to go around in “Scandal,” what with Daniel (Josh Bowman) getting arrested for the murder, Jack (Nick Wechsler) thinking Amanda (Margarita Levieva) did it and trying to cover that up, and Emily (Emily VanCamp) getting all messed up because she’s in love with Daniel.
Yes, it’s another action-packed episode of everybody’s favorite guilty pleasure. Oh, and we also find out what happened with the plane that David Clarke (James Tupper) was wrongly accused of bringing down, for which Emily is trying to get revenge on the whole Grayson clan. We see in a flashback Conrad Grayson (Henry Czerny) telling Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) that he was backing the terrorist group that caused the crash – a crime that would get Conrad life in prison if it got out. Which is why they blamed David Clarke, which is why Emily Thorne wants revenge on the Graysons.
We’ve also got Charlotte (Christa B. Allen) taking pills so that she can sleep through her brother getting arrested for murder and finding out that her birth father was David Clarke, not Conrad, thanks to Victoria’s affair with him. Declan (Connor Paolo), Jack’s little brother, is getting worried about Jack, especially since he finds a bloody hoodie in Jack’s drawers.
And Jack should be worried. Daniel’s lawyer, Brooks, has found out that Amanda Clarke is around (well, the faux Amanda – we know that Emily is the real Amanda, but the Graysons don’t know that) and is asking whether she hates the family enough to frame Daniel for the murder. Which means they could be looking at Jack, who didn’t go to Haiti when he was supposed to. But there’s even more skulduggery. Victoria’s assistant Ashley (Ashley Madekwe) not only thinks Daniel shot Tyler and that he’ll get away with it, she’s been leaking pictures of Daniel in his bloody tux to the Internet.
As for Daniel, his prints are on Emily’s gun and there was gunshot residue on his hands. Daniel also has a wound on the back of his head, and Tyler was shot once in his front and twice in the back. Before his actual arrest, we get the flashback of Tyler telling Daniel that Emily is out to get him and his family, and that the evidence is under the floorboards in Emily’s house. So Daniel goes rushing back to Emily’s to find the evidence, but only finds a stray box. Well, we did see Emily hiding the box under the sand. She keeps pointing out that she rushed back to the house right after Tyler was found to get Daniel some fresh clothes.
Nope. It turns out Satoshi Takeda (Hiroyuki Sanada) is less than pleased about the way things have fallen out and roughly takes Emily to task for it. Which is kind of ripe since Takeda knocked Daniel out by hitting him in the back of the head with a rock after Daniel shot Tyler once (in self-defense – the two were grappling), then Takeda rolled Tyler on his face and shot him twice in the back.
As I said, plenty of drama to go around on REVENGE and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
