The reality of DANCING WITH THE STARS has hit Lisa Vanderpump hard. As she recovers from the flu, she is also voted out second on season 16 alongside new pro Gleb Savchenko. Still, she proudly did her dance last night feeling under the weather and can be feel good about that.
All felt good watching the pro girls open the show with a red hot number before a quick recap of highlights. Is it me or are the highlights portions becoming much shorter than they were before? That was one of the good parts of the results show. Why would they shorten them? Hell, why not get rid of the Macy’s Stars of Dance altogether instead of shortening the backstage recaps?
At any rate, the show moved fast and furious as Aly Raisman & Mark Ballas, Zendaya Coleman & Val Chmerkovskiy, Kellie Pickler & Derek Hough, and Ingo Rademacher & Kym Johnson were all safe within the first ten minutes. The encore, naturally, went to first place couple Raisman & Ballas.
Then, bam, told that they were safe were Jacoby Jones & Karina Smirnoff and Sean Lowe & Peta Murgatroyd. Never have results been told so quickly in the show. Perhaps they are trying to punch the production up a bit.
A ridiculous waste of time was spent on an unfunny video segment on judge Bruno Tonioli’s so-called “writers”. It fell flat and was a big dud.
Next up to pick up the pace was Brad Paisley’s country rock performance as Tony Dovolani and Murgatroyd galloped across the dance floor. An emotional A T & T spotlight dance with legally blind dancer Brilynn Rakes and pro Hough was a sweet and tender moment. While soon after Andrea Boceli and Jennifer Lopez did a duet above Chmerkovskiy and Anna Trebunskaya taking the floor.
In no time it came once again. D.L. Hughley, with Cheryl Burke, escaped elimination which left Andy Dick & Sharna Burgess, Victor Ortiz & Lindsay Arnold, and Vanderpump & Savchenko in jeopardy. To Dick’s relief, he and Burgess were safe to dance again. Then, came the news – Vanderpump & Savchenko were out. On to week five – Did I hear right…Maks is back?! Let’s hope so! Stay tuned!
