Disney • Pixar held the World Premiere of MONSTERS UNIVERSITY, June 17th at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. It was a big premiere with the blue carpet running almost the whole block from Highland to Orange closing down Hollywood Blvd., which also included a Tailgate event with games and food for the guests.
As usual it was lots of press, photographers and fans. MONSTERS UNIVERSITY is the story of Mike Wazowski (voiced of Billy Crystal) when he was a little monster and he had a great dream of becoming a Scarer. Where better to learn but MONSTERS UNIVERSITY (MU). Rooming with James P. Sullivan “Sulley” (voiced by John Goodman) a friendship is formed after first going through a lot of competitions between the two of them. This out-of-control competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University’s elite Scare Program, which they then realize that they will have to work together, along with an odd bunch of misfit monsters.
Walking the carpet were the stars of the film, which included: Billy Crystal, Sean Hayes, Joel Murray, Charlie Day, Bobby Moynihan, Beth Behrs, John Ratzenberger, Noah Johnston, John Lasseter (Executive Producer), Kori Rae (Producer), Dan Scanlon (Director/Story By/Screenplay By), Daniel Gerson and Robert L. Baird (Writers – Screenplay and Story). Also characters – Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan “Sulley.” Unfortunately, John Goodman was not at the premiere.
Joining them were guests, which included: Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale, Ming-Na Wen, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, Kate Flannery, Teri Polo, Scottie Pippen, Adrian Pasdar, Adam Irigoyen, Caroline Sunshine, Cierra Ramirez, Laura Marano, Chandra Wilson, Tahj Mowry, Neal McDonough, Jason Reitman, Max Charles, Maia Mitchell, Mia Talerico, Garrett Clayton, Raini Rodriguez, Rico Rodriguez, Melissa Joan Hart, Wayne Brady, Oscar Nunez, Karina Smirnoff, Roshon Fegan, Taylor Spreitler, Dove Cameron, Ed Begley Jr., Calum Worthy and Alessandra Ambrosio.
