The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films recently held the 39th Annual Saturn Awards at The Castaway Starlight Ballroom in Burbank. It was a beautiful day and night high in the hills of Burbank.
This award show is not televised, and honors a genre that the main award shows generally overlook. The host for the awards was Lance Reddick (FRINGE) and the awards were dedicated to Ray Harryhausen, who passed away May 7, 2013. Richard Matheson who was to receive The Visionary Award this night, also passed away June 23, 2013.
Jonathan Frakes who was being honored with the Life Career Award unfortunately had a personal emergency and was unable to attend.
Walking the carpet at the Saturn Awards into the ballroom were many stars from Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror, which included: Lexa Doig, Todd Tucker, Adam Green, Rileah Vanderbilt, Jeff Rector, John Savage, Veronica Diaz-Carranza, Keahu Kahuanui, Doug Jones, Valerie Perez, Erik Knudsen, Tara Mason, Tyler Posey, Richard Gunn, Katie Leclerc, Todd Lasance, Sherry Lansing, William Friedkin, Camden Toy, Crystal Allen, Holland Roden, Cedric Nicolas Troyan, Gale Anne Hurd, David Albert, Israel Broussard, Tim Russ, Drew Roy, Ellen Greene, Brett Dalton, Danny Elfman, Ming-Na Wen, Cas Anvar, Zoe Bell, Amy Acker, Tiffany Brouwer, Gary Graham, Chloe Zak, Madison Dylan, Joss Whedon, J. August Richards, RJ Mitte, Jodi Lyn O’Keefe, JD Pardo, Lance Reddick, Laurie Holden, Julie Adams, Noah Wyle, Jonathan Banks, Michael Emerson, Clark Gregg, Keith David, Barry Bostwick, and from the upcoming JURASSIC PARK IV Colin Trevorrow (Director/Screenwriter), Derek Connolly (Screenwriter), and Patrick Crowley (Producer).
