He waited 10 years to be on the show and he was worth the wait! DANCING WITH THE STARS: Season 19 ended with Alfonso Ribeiro & Witney Carson winning the mirror ball trophy. DUCK DYNASTY star Sadie Robertson & Mark Ballas came in second, while PRETTY LITTLE LIARS‘ Janel Parrish & Val Chmerkovskiy ended the season in third. Ironically, last night’s eliminated couple, internet sensation Bethany Mota & Derek Hough, received the most votes for the encore, which they happily performed before we were treated to various musical acts including Nick Jonas, sans Joe and Kevin, Jennifer Hudson, and Meghan Trainer.
All three of the finalists received perfect 40s for their fusion dances in which they had just 24 hours to rehearse and perform. Never before has there been such a tight race, given that all three couples had a moment on top of the leader board at least once this season. In the end, the strongest dancer did win. From the get go Ribeiro has outperformed and outshone the others on the dance floor. Throughout the entire season he never received anything less than an eight, and more often than not it was 10 and 9 panels held up by the judges.
Bravo to a very competitive season, and hopefully for the 10th anniversary DWTS:Season 20 in the spring, we will once again see a dance contest worthy of DWTS. Stay tuned…see you in March!
