While at today’s 2011 Comic Con in San Diego, Andrew Garfield spoke to the press about finally taking over the role of Peter Parker aka Spider-man in the new reboot THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. Having been a big fan since he was a kid, he loved the chance to be the poster boy for all skinny kids around the world who wish they could transform into a crime-fighting super hero. “I like the idea of a skinny kid beating up bad guys,” says Garfield. “It’s a dream of mine and what a way to do it so you can give other […]Read On »

With THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN rebooting the film franchise with new Peter Parker Andrew Garfield and new director Marc Webb, at today’s 2011 Comic-Con press event producer Avi Arad discussed why they went the reboot route as opposed to a fourth chapter in the Sam Raimi/Tobey Maguire incarnation of the franchise. “Most of you are aware we started on the way to do another movie, but our director [Raimi] and cast and us realized there wasn’t enough newness,” says Arad. “There was not a new story to tell. Sony released the second studio authorized picture of Andrew Garfield as Spider-man, for the newly re-booted franchise kicking off with THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. It’s fitting that Sony decided on that as a title, since it has been the Spider-man flagship book since its appearance in ’63. Now that we have a better picture of the new Spidey suit (and a heck of a lot better than the camera phone spy pics that have been popping up all over) we can start to analyze the look o the suit and where some of the influences for it may have originated. So […]Read On »

It’s taken some time, but the title of SPIDER-MAN 4 aka the SPIDER-MAN reboot movie is finally here and it is … THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. That’s not surprising, considering the title is also shared with one of the longest running SPIDER-MAN comic book series. Also released is a photo of Garfield in full costume  – hopefully to quell fears that the behind-the-scenes footage of the Spidey-costume will look better when properly lit (it does). THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN opens July 3, 2012 and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. […]Read On »
