ABC’s new series ONCE UPON A TIME, airing Sundays at 8 PM, is definitely a fantasy, but beyond that, it’s hard to compare to anything on the air, now or in the past. The short version of the premise is that the Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) exiles many characters from Fairytale Land, including Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin), Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) and Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carlyle), to the picturesque small town of Storybrooke, Maine. The erstwhile fairytale folk have no notion of their true identities but young Henry (Jared Gilmore), the adopted son of the mayor, has a glimmer of what […]Read On »

And I did […]Read On »

The third season of Fox’s science-fiction series FRINGE ended on a cliff-hanger. Our universe and a parallel universe were both eroding due to a recently-discovered phenomenon that had been caused decades ago. The source of the problem was a breach created by Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble) who, when his son died in this world, brought his parallel-universe son Peter over to this world to save him – and then kept him. The now-adult Peter Bishop, played by Joshua Jackson, put himself into a machine to mend both universes. It worked – but Peter blinked out of existence, and no […]Read On »

Despite strong ratings, Fox is still not committing to a second season of TERRA NOVA yet. At today’s Fox TCA session, Entertainment President Kevin Reilly says with a smile “we’ve done a good job avoiding some of these big decisions until after these sessions.” That said, Reilly admits that once again they have a high class problem with so many strong hits, and not enough real estate. Another factor, though not mentioned, is that the net is probably waiting until their midseason dramas TOUCH and ALCATRAZ air to see how they fare before pulling the trigger on anything else. “It […]Read On »
