In TNT’s new series FALLING SKIES, the survivors of an alien invasion of Earth band together to fight the marauding extraterrestrials. Sometimes, dealing with fellow humans can be almost as challenging as battling the ETs, as evidenced by the interactions between teacher-turned-freedom fighter Tom Mason, played by Noah Wyle, and experienced soldier Captain Dan Weaver, played by Will Patton. The South Carolina-born Patton has appeared in a huge amount of feature films and television series, including NO WAY OUT, 24, THE CLIENT, VR.5, REMEMBER THE TITANS and THE MOTHMAN PROPHECIES, as well as many stage roles. In person, the actor […]Read On »

The X List: The 10 Things About TORCHWOOD You Need to Know

Eve Myles and John Barrowman in TORCHWOOD: MIRACLE DAY | ©2011 Starz

Russell T. Davies not only brought DOCTOR WHO back to our screens in 2005, the show-runner/writer also spun off the concept of an alien-fighting secret organization called TORCHWOOD (hint: scramble those letters and see what you come up with) that debuted in Series 2 of the new WHO into its own series. After two regular series, the show morphed into a single story for its third series, TORCHWOOD: CHILDREN OF EARTH, aired in five parts during one week. Possibly one of the greatest achievements in modern sci-fi television, the third series saga set the bar pretty high, but now TORCHWOOD […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: Bill Pullman antagonizes TORCHWOOD: MIRACLE DAY

Bill Pullman in TORCHWOOD: MIRACLE DAY | ©2011 Starz

TORCHWOOD: MIRACLE DAY, the latest miniseries of the world-saving adventures of Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman), premieres Friday on Starz, in a co-production with the BBC. Bill Pullman plays antagonist Oswald Danes. This is far from the New York-born Pullman’s first foray into genre – one of his first film roles was starring in Wes Craven’s voodoo horror movie THE SERPENT AND THE RAINBOW, and he went on to play the U.S. president in INDEPENDENCE DAY – but this is one of the actors few forays into series television. Here’s what the actor had to say about his new gig. […]Read On »

FALLING SKIES has finally exceeded my limit. With “Grace” we’re stuck with another episode where Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) has to go on some sort of mission, avoid Skitters (the aliens), deal with […]Read On »
