NBC’s COUNCIL OF DADS premieres on Tuesday, March 24. In the ten-episode first season, gravely ill Scott Perry (Tom Everett Scott) gets his three best friends to promise to help Scott’s wife Robin (Sarah Wayne Callies) to help raise the couple’s five children in the event of his death. Each episode focuses on a different milestone occasion during a crucial year. J August Richards plays Oliver, who is not only Scott’s friend, but also Robin’s pal from their college days and now Scott’s oncologist. ABC’s STATION 19, now wrapping up its second season and renewed for a third, is a spinoff of its Thursday night lead-in, GREY’S ANATOMY. As with most spinoffs, there are some characters who moved from the original series to the new show. Among these migratory figures is Jason George’s character Ben Warren, who was a previously a doctor on GREY’S ANATOMY for eight seasons, but has gone through retraining to become a Station 19 firefighter in the newer series. STATION 19, now in its second season on ABC, is set in a Seattle fire station. The series is a spinoff of the venerable GREY’S ANATOMY, which immediately precedes STATION 19 on Thursday nights. ABC’s stalwart medical drama GREY’S ANATOMY, on Thursday nights, is now in its fifteenth season and renewed for a sixteenth. Many cast members have come and gone from the Shonda Rhimes-created hit (Patrick Dempsey, Sandra Oh, Sara Ramirez), but James Pickens Jr., who plays Dr. Richard Webber, has been with the series for its entire run, acting in all but one of its (so far) 343 episodes and counting.
