The difference is that Daisy and Jemma remember who they are in the real world. Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), top S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and former director of the organization, thinks he’s a high school teacher who’s new to espionage. It’s rare for an American show to have two Scottish actors as regulars both playing Scottish characters. However, MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD, now in its fourth season Tuesday nights on ABC, boasts Iain De Caestecker as Dr. Leopold Fitz and John Hannah as Dr. Holden Radcliffe. De Caestecker has been with AGENTS OF SHIELD since its premiere. His Fitz is a tech genius whose adoration of erstwhile classmate, biological whiz Dr. Gemma Simmons, played by Elizabeth Henstridge, is now requited. Hannah joined the series in Season 3 as Dr. Holden Radcliffe, a pioneer in the field of artificial intelligence. Until […]Read On »

Lucy Lawless in ASH VS. EVIL DEAD - Season 1 | ©2015 Starz

Starz’s new series ASH VS. EVIL DEAD, Saturdays at 9 PM, was renewed for a second season before its first had even premiered two weeks ago. Based on the trilogy of EVIL DEAD theatrical films (1981-1993), ASH VS. EVIL DEAD sees Bruce Campbell returning to his big-screen role as Ash, a none-too-bright fellow who manages to revive and then survive an onslaught of Deadites. Deadites, for those new to the mythos, are hard-to-kill homicidal demons who can possess humans and (usually) inanimate objects. ASH VS. EVIL DEAD is executive-produced by Sam Raimi, who directed and co-wrote the first three EVIL […]Read On »

Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson in AGENTS OF SHIELD | (c) 2013 ABC/Justin Lubin

MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD, ABC Tuesday nights at 8 PM, deals with the team of non-superpowered folks who assist, investigate and otherwise deal with things pertaining to superheroes in the universe of THE AVENGERS. The series, created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, brings back Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), somehow resurrected – we don’t know quite how yet, but it’s clear Coulson himself has been misled – after his death in AVENGERS as the team leader. Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) is the most experienced agent after Coulson, Ward (Brett Dalton) is muscle, Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: SPARTACUS VENGEANCE producer on the latest season

Liam McIntyre in SPARTACUS: VENGEANCE | ©2012 Starz

Starz Network’s SPARTACUS series, Friday nights at 10 PM, has gone through almost as many tribulations as its legendary hero. The first season, SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND, starred Andy Whitfield as the Thracian warrior sent into slavery and trained as a gladiator, only to turn on his master and free his fellows. Then Whitfield was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and the production company did a prequel season, SPARTACUS: GODS OF THE ARENA, while waiting for Whitfield to recover. Sadly, Whitfield’s cancer returned. He gave his blessing to the producers to recast the role and passed away in September 2011. Liam […]Read On »

DeKnight Director: Jesse Warn Network: STARZ, airs Friday nights Original Telecast: March 16, 2012 I was not a person who initially liked the original SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND. I admit to only having watched the first three-fourths of the pilot (before Lucy Lawless and John Hannah even appeared on screen) and I was so unimpressed that I shut it off and didn’t return to the show until DVD. Once I got into it, I was hooked. I had marathons […]Read On »
