ST. DENIS MEDICAL: Co-creator Eric Ledgin operates on a new NBC comedy – Exclusive Interview

The new comedy ST. DENIS MEDICAL, which premieres on NBC Tuesday, November 12 (with episodes streaming on Peacock following broadcast), is a mockumentary that follows the mostly dedicated staff of an underfunded Oregon hospital. Series stars include David Alan Grier as seen-it-all chief of surgery Ron, Wendy McClendon-Covey as ambitious hospital administrator Joyce, and Allison Tolman as warm-hearted nurse Alex. In NBC’s half-hour comedy SUPERSTORE, now nearing its fourth-season finale Thursday night and renewed for a fifth year, Mark McKinney plays Cloud Nine manager Glenn. Glenn is ever-optimistic as he runs the big box store, although he’s not quite as effective as he likes to imagine he is. SUPERSTORE: Nico Santos on Season 4 of the NBC comedy – Interview

NBC’s half-hour comedy SUPERSTORE, now in its fourth season on Thursday nights, follows the employees of the big-box retailer Cloud 9. Nico Santos plays Mateo Fernando Aquino Liwanag, a sales associate who is gay and Filipino. SUPERSTORE’s portrayal of the character and other LGBTQ people has earned the series a GLAAD Media Award nomination for Comedy Series. Santos, who was born in Manila, came to big-screen attention last year as Oliver T’sien in the hit romantic comedy CRAZY RICH ASIANS.
