Cast: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Jim Beaver, Misha Collins, Mark Sheppard Writer: Eric Kripke Director: Robert Singer Network: The CW, Airs Fridays Original Telecast:  May 20, 2011 I wonder if next season we’ll get a Rapture-based episode of SUPERNATURAL – it seems like exactly the type of fare that would fit perfectly with the show. It seems like Season 6 of SUPERNATURAL has been a number of seasons put into one. First, it was Sam (Jared Padalecki) returning from Hell with no soul and working with Samuel, who was in turn working with Crowley (Mark Sheppard), to hunt and gather […]Read On »

TV Review: SUPERNATURAL – Season 6 – “Let It Bleed”

Jensen Ackles and Cindy Sampson in SUPERNATURAL - Season 6 - "Let It Bleed" | ©2011 The CW/Michael Courtney

Cast: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Jim Beaver, Misha Collins, Mark Sheppard Writer: Sera Gamble Director: John F. Showalter Network: The CW, Airs Fridays Original Telecast:  May 20, 2011 The two-hour season finale of SUPERNATURAL is actually two single serving episodes that they decided to air back-to-back. The penultimate episode to Season 6, “Let it Bleed,” gives us the run-up to the final showdown – at least presumably – between the Winchesters boys and the partnership between Crowley (Mark Sheppard), king of Hades, and Castiel (Misha Collins), the boys’ favorite angel that has gone rogue in his quest to win the […]Read On »

The X List: Five Best DOCTOR WHO Stories About the TARDIS

Janet Fielding, Sarah Sutton and Peter Davison in DOCTOR WHO - Season Nineteen - "Castrovalva" | ©1982 BBC

She’s the most consistent star in the history of the series, appearing alongside her beloved Doctor even when dozens of other companions have come and gone. She’s the blue box with the infinite universe of rooms and corridors within, the last child of Gallifrey, the dimensionally transcendental Type 40 time-and-space machine known as the TARDIS – and she’s sexy too. From the SIDRATS of “The War Games” to the solo flying of the console in “Inferno” and “Day of the Daleks;” from glimpses of control rooms and wardrobes in “The Masque of Mandragora,” “The Twin Dilemma,” “Time and the Rani,” […]Read On »

TV Review: THE OFFICE – Season 7 – “Search Committee”

Ray Romano, Paul Lieberstein, John Krasinski and Zach Woods in THE OFFICE - Season 7 - "Search Committee" | ©2011 NBC/Chris Haston

Stars: Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, B.J. Novak, Ed Helms Writer: Paul Lieberstein Director: Jeffrey Blitz Network: NBC, airs Thursday nights Original Telecast: May 19. 2011 I can understand NBC’s need to hype the fact that big stars like Ray Romano, James Spader and Jim Carrey were going to drop by THE OFFICE to vie for the job of new Dunder-Mifflin manager after Steve Carell said his goodbyes a couple of weeks ago as Michael Scott. However, it almost torpedoes this one-hour season finale “Search Committee” because we already know all the surprises. We even know that THE OFFICE […]Read On »

Thyne, Tamara Taylor, John Francis Daley, Michael Grant Terry, Ryan O’Neal, Kevin Alejandro Writers: Hart Hanson & Stephen Nathan Director: Ian Toynton Network: Fox, Thursdays @ 9 PM Airdate: May 19, 2011 Let’s cut to the chase here. When a TV series has a star who becomes pregnant in real life, the options are to write her out of several episodes, stash her behind desks and potted plants while she is “showing,” or just write the pregnancy into the series. As Emily Deschanel is the title character on BONES, writing her out […]Read On »

Interview: Actor Jesse Williams on GREY’S ANATOMY & CABIN IN THE WOODS

Jesse Williams in GREY'S ANATOMY - Season 7 - "With You I'm Born Again" | ©2011 ABC/Peter "Hopper" Stone

Dr. Jackson Avery arrived at Seattle Grace Hospital when it merged with Mercy West Hospital last season on GREY’S ANATOMY. The surgical resident survived the shootout in the season finale and has been making waves all through this past season. It may tell you something about the appeal of Jesse Williams, the actor who portrays Jackson, that on GREEK, he played a character known as “the Hotness Monster.” Williams is adept at playing nonchalant, too – when someone comments that he’s created quite a stir on GREY’S ANATOMY, Williams responds innocently, “Oh, have I?” The former high school teacher was […]Read On »

Sarah Michelle Gellar in RINGER - Season 1 | ©2011 The CW/Jojo Whilden

The CW Network was the last presentation at New York’s upfronts today as the unveiled their 2011-2012 schedule. An interesting strategy emerged, as each night had some continuity (something the CW does rather well). The Josh Schwartz/Stephanie Savage projects GOSSIP GIRL and newcomer HART OF DIXIE will air on Mondays; 90210 will pair with new Sarah Michelle Gellar project RINGER on Tuesday;  reality shows H8R and AMERICA’S TOP MODEL anchor Wednesdays; Kevin Williamson’s THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and newcomer witch project THE SECRET CIRCLE air on Thursdays; while genre fare NIKITA and SUPERNATURAL rest on Fridays. HELLCATS is canceled while ONE […]Read On »
