RIZZOLI & ISLES, concluding its second season on TNT tonight, is a fan favorite. Not only is the series, based on Tess Gerritsen’s novels, a snappy crime-solving procedural, but it provides a view of supportive female friendship between its leads, Angie Harmon as police detective Jane Rizzoli and Sasha Alexander as coroner Maura Isles, that is rare on television. This season, Maura has opened her home to Jane’s recently divorced mother Angie, played by Lorraine Bracco. Both actresses, as well as series production designer Bruce Miller, are on hand in the set for Maura’s living room. The space is beautiful, […]Read On »

Mark Sheppard in SUPERNATURAL - Season 5 - "The Devil You Know" | ©2010 The CW/Michael Courtney

Mark Sheppard is one of television’s reigning kings of returning characters. As CW’s SUPERNATURAL fans know, Sheppard’s character Crowley was also King of Hell for awhile, though he got demoted and then almost smote when angel Castiel (Misha Collins) ascended to godhood in the Season Six finale. The London-born Sheppard will be back in SUPERNATURAL’s upcoming seventh season and recently returned as Jim Sterling in the summer finale LEVERAGE. Right now, though, he’s talking about Crowley, who started out as a Crossroads Demon – or did he? The British-born Sheppard has some interesting theories about this – but he’s wary […]Read On »

As LEVERAGE wraps up the summer portion of Season 4 (with a return of regular antagonist Jim Sterling played by Mark Sheppard), ASSIGNMENT X chatted with star Aldis Hodge who plays hacker Hardison on the series. Throughout the course of the TNT series, Hardison has went from wise-cracking loner to someone who is finally accepting that he’s part of a team. He also has feelings for the somewhat closes off Parker (Beth Riesgraf) which has been gaining some traction the past couple of seasons. Here’s what Hodge had to say about the latest developments. ASSIGNMENT X:  So Sterling is finally […]Read On »

It’s more about the strategy of combat and little victories and less about full-out weekly alien/human war. After all, the series began AFTER the aliens had already wiped out most of earth with only a small […]Read On »

TV Review: LEVERAGE – Season 4 – “The Hot Potato Job”

Gina Bellman and Christian Kane in LEVERAGE - Season 4 - "The Hot Potato Job" | ©2011 TNT/Erik Heinila

Stars: Timothy Hutton, Gina Bellman, Aldis Hodge, Christian Kane, Beth Riesgraf, Mitch Pileggi, Bhanna Peget Writer: Jenn Kao, series created by John Rogers & Chris Downey Director: John Harrison Network: TNT, Sundays @ 9 PM Airdate: July 24, 2011 LEVERAGE’s “The Hot Potato Job” is decent enough – it literally involves a stolen (i.e., hot) potato, so points up front for a good title, as well as smart casting in employing Mitch Pileggi as the big bad of the week. However, given that this is the episode where team leader Nathan (Timothy Hutton) and longtime unconsummated/then consummated-but-pretending-it’s-no-big-deal love interest Sophie […]Read On »
