With HBO finding success with the fantasy series GAME OF THRONES based on the books by George R.R. Martin, the question is how long the series can continue since the source material spans so many novels. At today’s TCA press tour for HBO, Co-President Richard Plepler and HBO Programming President Michael Lombardo spoke about their plans for THRONES. After the major fan outcry of AMC’s THE KILLING not revealing who the killer of Rosie Larsen was at the end of Season Two, AMC’s Senior Vice President of Original Programming, Production, and Digital Content John Stillerman says the intent was never to upset the fans as much as they did. “I think the major takeaway for us after the finale of THE KILLING starts with the headline that for everybody who was frustrated, we hear you, and if we had to do anything differently, I think we would certainly have taken a different approach with respect to managing the […]Read On »

After the DOCTOR WHO series made a brief tour of the U.S. in Series 6  by actually shooting in the states for the first time, showrunner Steven Moffat wouldn’t rule out the idea of revisiting America again for the show – but only if it’s right. “It’s entirely about story,” says Moffat while at today’s Summer 2011 TCA tour in Beverly Hills. “I don’t think in order to make DOCTOR WHO [appeal to]  Americans you have to do stories set in America. Americans are not going to wish there were more series set in America. It’s story driven. [America] is […]Read On »

At today’s 2011 TCA press tour in Beverly Hills, Matt Smith was asked who his favorite DOCTOR WHO was, and the answer is … second Doctor Patrick Troughton. “What’s wonderful about him is he’s weird and peculiar, but he’s not asking you to think he’s weird or peculiar,” says Smith. The actor also spoke about how being a younger Doctor actually helped give a new dimension to the character. “It worked in my favor,” says Smith. “There’s something funny about a young face and an old soul. It allows you to reinvent being old. So that was interesting. When I […]Read On »
