BBC America will be debuting THE HOUR, its new co-production with BBC 2 on August 17th and critics got a first taste of the impressive looking  new series at the Summer’s 2011 TCA session. Set in the mid 1950s, the series created by Abi Morgan is an espionage thriller set in the news room of the BBC as it follows the triangle of a young journalist (Ben Whishaw), an ambitious young producer (Romola Garai) and the new lead anchor of the show (Dominic West). TCA 2011 News: BBC America to launch COPPER as its first original production

During today’s 2011 Summer TCA session, BBC America announced that they will be launching their first, self-produced original series in the summer of 2012. Called COPPER, it will be a ten episode series from Cineflix Studios and producers Barry Levinson and Tom Fontana. “Copper captures the immigrant experience in 19th Century New York,” says BBC America General Manager Perry Simon. “The show maintains our U.K. connectivity in a bold and smart way. To mix it up a bit this week on the third week of eliminations during AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: The Quarter Finals, they did something almost too cruel to imagine. Host Nick Cannon called to the stage three acts – Purrfect Angelz, Summerwind Skippers and Ian Johnson. So what’s the scoop on Season 7 of SUPERNATURAL? The cast and executive producers were keeping the secrets close to the vest during their press rounds at the 2011 Comic-Con, but we were still able to get some info out of them. Executive producer Sera Gamble says that the first episode back in Season 7 will find Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) still reeling from the events of the cliffhanger that found their friend/angel Castiel (Misha Collins) turning bad. “They are reeling from what’s been going on with this character that they’ve been best friends with,” says Gamble.
