One of the most influential satirical forces has been THE ONION newspaper and website and now Comedy Central is bringing the news organization’s comedic bent to the small screen with ONION SPORTSDOME. Today’s TCA press tour event kicked off today with TV Land bringing out their latest sitcom RETIRED AT 35 which debuts on January 19th. Hot on the heels of the success of HOT IN CLEVELAND, RETIRED AT 35 is a sitcom about a 35 year old (Johnathan McClain) who quits his job and moves in with his parents (George Segal, Jessica Walter) in Florida. Popular British character actor Pete Postlethwaite, who was recently seen in the Ben Affleck directed drama THE TOWN, CLASH OF THE TITANS and INCEPTION, passed away over the weekend at the age of 64 after a battle with cancer. Actress Anne Francis passed away at the age of 80 over this weekend after a battle with lung cancer. Best known for her role in the classic 1950’s science-fiction film FORBIDDEN PLANET, Francis also appeared on TV in the private detective series HONEY WEST. In PLANET, Francis played Altaira, one of two surviving humans on a mysterious planet and has admitted in interviews no one ever expected that science-fiction film to have the longevity it did.
