TCA News: TNT’s new DALLAS series is a continuation not a reboot or remake

The big question when TNT announced they were bringing back the iconic 1980s soap opera DALLAS a weekly series, was whether it would continue to mythology previously established or do its own thing. TCA News: Update on new Charlie Sheen FX series ANGER MANAGEMENT

Even though FX has picked up the new Charlie Sheen sitcom ANGER MANAGEMENT created by Bruce Helford, President and General Manager of the FX network says that he was initially skeptical of the pitch before he heard it. “Charlie was there, as was the creator and showrunner and it was really an excellent pitch,” says Landgraf. “It’s funny, complicated and the character Charlie ought to be playing at this point. TCA News: POWERS adaptation still in limbo at FX, but not dead

At today’s TCA press day for the FX Network, President & General Manager John Landgraf says the status of the POWERS graphic novel adaptation created by Brian Michael Bendis is still in limbo – though still alive. “We didn’t pick the pilot up,” says Landgraf. “We did a fairly substantial rewrite which would require pretty substantial reshoots of the pilot. We’re in the process of deciding whether to pull the trigger on the reshoots. I adore the underlying property.
