Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly says he still has no word if this will be the show’s final season. “I can’t confirm it’s the last season,” says Reilly. “Hugh [Laurie] is mulling it. The producers are. This is the original team of creators who have been there from […]Read On »

While speaking with NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt at this summer’s 2011 TCA, ASSIGNMENT X asked about the status of THE EVENT wrap-up movie. Although things aren’t set in stone, Greenblatt does hint that a final decision about its ultimate fate could be decided quite soon. “It’s been discussed with Syfy and a few weeks ago it seemed more possible than it does today, but I honestly don’t know,” says Greenblatt. However, Greenblatt is quick to point out that THE EVENT, if it does get this last-minute reprise, will not air on NBC. “If it happens, it would definitely be […]Read On »

With THE OFFICE losing Steve Carell this season, and James Spader coming in to fill that gap, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt is confident the  show will continue to prosper on Thursday nights. “My expectations are always very measured, so that we can under-expect and hopefully over-deliver,” says Greenblatt. “THE OFFICE is a very important to us. Like I said a few minutes ago, it’s our number one show in all kinds of demos. Shows go through transitions as they age and I think losing Steve is one of those. And I was at the first table reading a couple […]Read On »

With CBS and ABC shuddering their long-running soaps, NBC is still fully committed to its daytime soap warhorse DAYS OF OUR LIVES. “It’s the only soap we have and I think it does relatively well for us,” NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt at today’s 2011 Summer TCA press session. Greenblatt also says the other networks shedding their schedules of soaps could also open up more of an audience for NBC’s DAYS, but Greenblatt cautions that this genre may “sort of be going into the twilight years of its existence with all the other talk shows and syndicated shows that are […]Read On »

With NBC’s Utah affiliate KSL refusing to air NBC’s new period drama THE PLAYBOY CLUB, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said today at NBC’s Summer TCA session that he doesn’t anticipate any other affiliate stations dropping out before the show debuts in the fall. “I think every other affiliate will be airing the show and are on board,” says Greenblatt. “I guess I wasn’t completely surprised. That brand name is a little polarizing, even though I think the show isn’t at all that revealing. But that station in Utah doesn’t program SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE – they don’t take it. So […]Read On »

On October 27, BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD returns to MTV and today at the network’s TCA session, creator Mike Judge revealed details about the dim-witted duo’s return. The original 1990s series had the characters (voiced  by Judge) make outrageous comments on music videos, this new version will tackle many of MTV’s TV series like JERSEY SHORE and 16 & PREGNANT, as well as movie reviews, “internet stuff and some UFC fights,” notes Judge.
