CD Review: FROM INSIDE soundtrack

FROM INSIDE soundtrack | ©2012 Lakeshore Records

If you’re a pregnant woman on a post apocalyptic train ride to hell, then the least you deserve is a first class ticket, especially when it comes to setting the musical mood while traveling past oceans of blood, festering corpses and nuked landscapes. Much like the expectant mother who can only watch in transfixed horror, composer Brett Smith conveys a sense of nightmarish wonder to match the beautiful, depressing damnation of graphic novelist-turned animator John Bergin’s award winning feature FROM INSIDE. There’s nothing easy about absorbing INSIDE‘s shocking, Francis Bacon-like imagery. But far from reveling in the excesses of the […]Read On »

And that’s why I was excited to see what comedian Louie C.K. had in store for the […]Read On »

TNT’s action series LEVERAGE begins its fifth season on July 15 on TNT, and today, the show’s star Timothy Hutton gave a little tease about what to expect. The new season begins with Nate Ford (Hutton) and his team of former thieves (who help the helpless by taking down big targets by performing elaborate cons) have set up shop in Portland, OR (where the series is filmed). Verrone Network: Comedy Central, Wednesday nights Airdate: June 27, 2012 It was a smart move by the FUTURAMA writers to use this year’s election to do their own sci-fi take on campaigning and how society views on voting for a President just never change. And “Decision 3012” is a smart piece of political satire, even if it isn’t the type of laugh-out-loud funny we come to expect from the show. The concept is simple. The […]Read On »

Car Review: 2012 KIA SOUL

The 2012 KIA SOUL | ©2012 KIA

Car Manufacturer: Kia Model: 2012 KIA SOUL Suggested Retail Price: $19,845 The chance to drive two different Kia’s in one month was definitely a fun treat. Not only was it a contrast to see how the car company handled two entirely different types of vehicles – but also it was great to see how each performed when put to the test. I have to say, I loved the SOUL just a little bit more than the KIA RIO. The reason is that the SOUL feels like a hipper version of a SUV. It looks cool and funky, it’s incredibly comfortable […]Read On »
