After fifteen seasons and 327 one-hour episodes, SUPERNATURAL has its series finale on The CW on Thursday, November 17, 2020. The series began on The WB, and is now the longest-lasting survivor of that now-gone network. The CW Network president Mark Pedowitz counts himself as a SUPERNATURAL admirer. At a Q&A panel (pre-COVID) held by The CW for the Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour, there’s a final SUPERNATURAL panel. The speakers include leads Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester), Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester), Misha Collins (the angel Castiel) and Alexander Calvert (the half-angel Jack), executive producer/director Robert Singer, and executive producers/writers […]Read On »

Showalter Network: The CW, Thursdays @ 8 PM Original Airdate: November 12, 2020 To be clear, the episode “Inherit the Earth” is not the series finale of SUPERNATURAL. That comes November 19. However, the penultimate installment feels very much like a season finale. “Inherit the Earth” pays off the vast majority of plot developments that have been brewing ever since God/Chuck (Rob Benedict) returned to Earth at the end of Season […]Read On »

In “Despair,” there’s a lot of the title sentiment, but there’s also true happiness and love. Jack (Alexander Calvert) is having a lot of physical problems, as he’s turned himself into a living bomb. He was meant to die taking out Chuck/God and Chuck’s […]Read On »

Stars: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Alexander Calvert, Rob Benedict, Emily Swallow, Rachel Miner, Alessandro Juliani, Carmen Moore Writer: Meredith Glynn, series created by Eric Kripke Director: Catriona McKenzie Network: The CW, Thursdays @ 8 PM Original Airdate: October 29, 2020 You have to hand it to SUPERNATURAL. Sometimes, they actually do go off the rails. Because this happens, it’s especially easy for them to do some expert misdirection, and with “Unity,” they show how they’ve done it. You know how Team Winchester has spent the season trying to fight Chuck, aka God (Rob Benedict)? That one’s easy. Remember […]Read On »

Stars: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Lisa Berry, Christian Michael Cooper, Paxton Singleton, Elle McKinnon, Liam Hughes, Kelsey Crane, Ryan Alexander McDonald Writer: Meghan Fitzmartin, series created by Eric Kripke Director: Amyn Kaderali Network: The CW, Thursdays @ 8 PM Original Airdate: October 22, 2020  With this being the fifth-to-last episode of SUPERNATURAL, the episode “Drag Me Away (From You)” naturally … goes back to 1993, where we see the guys as youngsters. This kinda/sorta informs the present, though not as much as it should, giving the timing. The bigger news here is that Dean (Jensen Ackles) is really doubling down […]Read On »

TV Review: SUPERNATURAL – Season 15 – “Gimme Shelter”

Yes, the case of the week kinda/sorta has something to do with Castiel’s (Misha Collins) emotional journey, but a lot of it moves Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam […]Read On »

SUPERNATURAL: Actor Misha Collins gives the scoop on the end of the series – Exclusive Interview

Misha Collins as Castiel in SUPERNATURAL - Season 15 - "Gimme Shelter" | © 2020 The CW Network/Katie Yu

When Misha Collins first appeared on SUPERNATURAL in its fourth-season premiere way back in 2008, nobody – including Collins – had any idea that he’d become a series regular. However, in SUPERNATURAL’s fifteenth and final season, now airing Thursday nights on The CW, Collins’s angel Castiel has become a beloved and essential part of Team Winchester, which currently consists of monster-fighting brothers Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles), plus half-human/half-angel Jack (Alexander Calvert), who is sort of Castiel’s adopted son. As SUPERNATURAL viewers know, our heroes are currently involved in fighting none other than God, aka Chuck (Rob Benedict), […]Read On »

Stars: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Alexander Calvert, Meagan Fay, Kavan Smith Writer: Jeremy Adams, series created by Eric Kripke Director: Eduardo Sanchez Network: The CW, Thursdays @ 8 PM Original Airdate: October 8, 2020  “Last Holiday” is Episode 14 in SUPERNATURAL’s fifteenth and final season. As such, we might expect something a little weightier, or at least a little bit more on the “what do we do about God/Chuck” track. Instead, “Last Holiday” is a relatively light bottle episode that only leaves the bunker for one quick fight and a few montage shots of the boys kicking in doors. It’s […]Read On »
