Ewing has proven itself to be bittersweet. Yes, we lost the most infamous villain in television forever but, boy did it open up a bevy of story lines for DALLAS. Most noticeably it left a gaping hole where he once stood. Wasting no time at all,  “Prey” features Cliff Barnes (Ken Kercheval) and Harris Ryland (Mitch Pileggi) stepping up their devilish plots to take the […]Read On »

Not only are you treated fairly well in terms of getting a house over your head and a warm cot, but as was shown in “Dispossessed” you get the opportunity to share the wife of the man who owns you. And when you are talking about the lovely Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) that’s a pretty […]Read On »

The CW’s CULT, created by FARSCAPE’s Rockne S. O’Bannon and playing Friday nights at 9 PM, is a hard show to describe but a fun one to watch for those who are into mind-bending thrillers. In the world of CULT, there is a CW TV series called CULT, which stars Robert Knepper’s character, actor Roger Reeves, as charismatic but dangerous cult leader Billy Grimm. Roger may or may not be aware that the show seems to be affecting some of its viewers, including the brother of journalist Jeff Sefton (Matt Davis). TV Review: THE FOLLOWING – Season 1 – “Welcome Home”

Agent Weston (Shawn Ashmore) leaves for his hotel in THE FOLLOWING "Welcome Home" | (c) 2013 David Giesbrecht/FOX

Stars: Kevin Bacon, James Purefoy, Natalie Zea, Shawn Ashmore, Annie Parisse, Billy Brown, Valorie Curry, Warren Kole Writers: Amanda Kate Shuman Director: Joshua Butler Network: Airs on Fox, Mondays @ 9 p.m. Original Telecast: March 11, 2013 This week’s episode of THE FOLLOWING was space filler while the pieces get set in place for whatever comes next on the show. Perhaps the biggest bit of information we received in “Welcome Home” was the reveal of Roderick (Warren Kole), a small town sheriff and right hand man to Joe Carroll (James Purefoy). While on the outside Roderick seems like a likeable […]Read On »

Stars: Patrick Duffy, Brenda Strong, Linda Gray, Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo Writer: Cynthia Cidre Director: Michael M. Robin Network: TNT, airs Monday nights Original Telecast: Mar. 11, 2013 Whoa … it was almost impossible to get through the episode of J.R.’s funeral without having a tear shed, especially knowing we are seeing a cast in mourning for the real man, Larry Hagman. Tonight’s DALLAS was spot on dramatic, revelatory and fitting for the man who put Texas on the map over 30 years ago. The opening gave us Sue Ellen (Linda Gray), Bobby (Patrick Duffy), John […]Read On »

TV Review: VIKINGS – SEASON 1 – “Wrath of the Northmen”

Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) and his raiders prep for battle in VIKINGS "Wrath of the Northment" | (c) 2013 Jonathan Hession/History

Cast: Travis Fimmel, Clive Standen, Katheryn Winnick, Gabriel Byrne, Gustaf Skarsgard, Jessalyn Gilsig Writer: Michael Hirst Director: Johan Renick Network: Airs on History, Sundays at 10 p.m. Original Telecast: March 10, 2013 The theme of this week’s VIKINGS’ episode “Wrath of the Northmen” really should have been called “Wrath of the Northwomen” because you do not want to f*** with these Nord chicks. From the Earl’s wife Siggy (Jessalyn Gilsig) beating the crap out of an unworthy snitch that hoped to get a little more out of the Earl than just gratitude (he ends up getting shanked near a pile […]Read On »

TV Review: VIKINGS – SEASON 1 – “Rites of Passage” – Series Premiere

Cast: Travis Fimmel, Clive Standen, Katheryn Winnick, Gabriel Byrne, Gustaf Skarsgard, Jessalyn Gilsig Writer: Michael Hirst Director: Johan Renick Network: Airs on History, Sundays at 10 p.m. Original Telecast: March 3, 2013 History (don’t call it the History Channel) has been slowly moving to become the next great cable channel to popularize itself with original programming following in the successful footsteps of FX, AMC, TNT and others – obviously which began with pay-TV network HBO. Proving that just having movies and documentaries are just not enough these days and the more successful original programming is what is drawing viewer interest. […]Read On »

TV Review: THE FOLLOWING – Season 1 – “Let Me Go”

Emma (Valorie Curry) protects Joey (Kyle Catlett) in "Let Me Go" on THE FOLLOWING | (c) 2013 Fox

Then again, maybe they were confident enough to leave it open from the get-go. I just hope they re-examine in Season 2 how to treat members of the criminal justice brotherhood going forward because someone on the show […]Read On »

TV Review: ONCE UPON A TIME – Season 2 – “The Queen is Dead”

Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas, Lana Parrilla, Lesley Nicol, Barbara Hershey in ONCE UPON A TIME - Season 2 - "The Queen is Dead" | ©2013 ABC/Jack Rowand

Stars: Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Robert Carlyle, Lana Parrilla, Jared Gilmore, Josh Dallas, Emilie de Ravin, Meghan Ory Writer: Daniel T. Thomsen & David H. Goodman Director: Gwyneth Horder Payton Network: ABC, Sunday nights, 8 p.m. Original Telecast: March 3, 2013 It’s almost always fun to get a charcter’s back story, and on ONCE UPON A TIME, those back stories have made for some great set-ups. But in “The Queen is Dead,” the story of Snow and her mother’s death, there’s just a meanness and a progressing darkness to the whole proceeding that doesn’t quite fit the world of the show as we know it. You end the episode […]Read On »
