Breaking News: CBS announces its Fall 2011 Schedule

CBS announced its Fall 2011 schedule today and the network made some pretty aggressive moves to its schedule – all of which will strengthen its weak spots and cushion new shows. Some of the big moves include CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION vacating the Thursday at 9:00 slot its held for years and moving to Wednesday nights at 10:00 pm. Venerable comedy hit RULES OF ENGAGEMENT moves to Saturday nights at 8:00 pm in a grand CBS experiment of opening up more original programming on that graveyard of a night. It’s a tough TV business, and every year fan favorite shows get the boot in favor of new shows that sometimes don’t live up to the potential of the departing series. This year, Fox canceled many fan favorites including the three season LIE TO ME, the two season HUMAN TARGET and THE CHICAGO CODE and the comedies TRAFFIC LIGHT and BREAKING IN. If you didn’t watch last night’s 2011 Golden Globe Awards, you probably missed one of the most uncomfortably bizarre telecasts in Globe history. Host Ricky Gervais skewered the Hollywood elite in ways that clearly made everyone nervous (and a little miffed) in the room. At today’s Winter TCA 2011 press tour, ABC Entertainment Group President Paul Lee spoke about the strategy for V – Season 2 and hopes the numbers continue to be as strong as the season two premiere. “Those lizards just won’t die,” says Lee. “They keep coming back. We’re pleased with that. We wanted to give it space [by ordering] ten episodes, so we could quality control those episodes. At the London Hotel in West Hollywood, California on November 18th, Kohl’s Department Store held a press conference to announce an Industry-First Lifestyle Brand with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony. This launch, which was announced by Don Brennan, Kohl’s Senior Executive Vice-President, will include women’s and men’s apparel and accessories. The Jennifer Lopez collection will feature sportswear, dresses, handbags, jewelry, shoes and sleepwear.
