Eva Longoria shot to fame in the first year of what’s turned out to be her eight-season run as well-to-do Gabrielle Solis on ABC’s DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, which airs Sundays at 9 PM. The Texas-born Longoria, who has a Bachelor’s degree in science from A&M University, has a healthy film career outside of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES – she’s in four features scheduled for release, including FOR GREATER GLORY with Peter O’Toole and Andy Garcia, THE BAYTOWN DISCO with VAMPIRE DIARIES’ Paul Wesley, THE TRUTH with Forest Whitaker and LONG TIME GONE – she also wrote a cookbook with Marah Slets entitled EVA’S […]Read On »

TV Review: ONCE UPON A TIME – Season 1 – “The Return”

Robert Carlyle in ONCE UPON A TIME - Season 1 - "The Return" | ©2012 ABC/Jack Rowand

Stars: Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Robert Carlyle, Lana Parrilla, Jared Gilmore, Josh Dallas, Raphael Sbarge, Eion Bailey Writer: Jane Espenson Director: Paul Edwards Network: ABC, Sunday nights, 8 p.m. Original Telecast: April 22, 2012 For all the teasing ABC has been doing, it looks like we’re going to get some answers about the dual worlds of ONCE UPON A TIME. The problem is, in “The Return,” we’re getting more questions. We’ve often noted that August (Eion Bailey) does not appear to have a fairy tale world counterpart, but that he does seem to be in on what’s going on in Storybrooke, Maine. And the episode leads us along to believe […]Read On »

Interview: Marcia Cross chats about the end of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES

Marcia Cross in DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES - Season 8 | ©2012 ABC/Matthew Rolston

If a take on the set of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES is interrupted by a ringing cell phone, you may be sure that the offending sound will not be the fault of actress Marcia Cross. Not that she won’t pick up – you just won’t hear it first. “Mine’s on silent and I answer it,” the actress laughs. “It doesn’t have time to ring.” This may be because in real life, Cross is the mother of two young children and, like most working parents, wants to be no more than a phone call away should they need her. Cross, a native of […]Read On »

TV Review: REVENGE – Season 1 – “Doubt”

Emily VanCamp in REVENGE - Season 1 - "Doubt" | ©2012 ABC/Vivian Zink

Stars: Emily VanCamp, Madeleine Stowe, Henry Czerny, Josh Bowman, Nick Wechsler, Gabriel Mann, Ashley Madekwe, Christa B. Allen, Connor Paolo Writer: Teleplay by Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie, Story by Mike Kelley Director: Matt Earl Beesley Network: ABC, Wednesday nights, 10 p.m. Original Telecast: April 18, 2012 After a brief hiatus, REVENGE is back not quite with a vengeance, but with a “Doubt,” technically the reasonable doubt Daniel Grayson (Josh Bowman) needs to get off for Tyler’s murder, but also with doubts about how the producers are going to pull off multiple seasons of this show. It does seem that at some point, Emily (Emily Vancamp) is going to have to leave off […]Read On »

Stars: Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic, Susan Sullivan, Molly Quinn, Tamala Jones, Seamus Deaver, Jon Huertas, Penny Johnson Jerald Writer: Alexi Hawley Director: John Terlesky Network: ABC, Monday nights, 10 p.m. Original Telecast: April 14, 2012 It’s a little more back to business, as usual, on CASTLE, with a nice balance of comedy and some angst.  And it’s always fun to see Adam Baldwin doing his thing and he doesn’t grunt this time. Plus, the producers guiding the writers have offered us some hope that we will see Det. Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) and author Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) get their act together in the […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: Robert Carlyle spins ONCE UPON A TIME gold

Robert Carlyle in ONCE UPON A TIME - Season 1 | ©2012 ABC/Kharen Hill

ABC’s freshman hit ONCE UPON A TIME, Sundays at 8 PM, is unlike anything else currently on television. Created by its show runners Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, ONCE posits that the curse of the Wicked Queen (Lana Parrilla) has deposited all of the inhabitants of Fairytale Land – Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin), Prince Charming (Josh Dallas), Jiminy Cricket (Raphael Sbarge), the Magic Mirror (Giancarlo Esposito) et al – in our world’s town of Storybrooke, Maine, a picturesque community where nothing ever changes. Due to the curse, the inhabitants have no memory of their former selves and don’t realize that […]Read On »

TV Review: CASTLE – Season 4 – “The Limey”

Charles Shaughnessy and Stana Katic in CASTLE - Season 4 - "The Limey" | ©2012 ABC/Karen Neal

Stars: Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic, Susan Sullivan, Molly Quinn, Tamala Jones, Seamus Deaver, Jon Huertas, Penny Johnson Jerald Writer: Elizabeth Davis Director: Bill Roe Network: ABC, Monday nights, 10 p.m. Original Telecast: April 2, 2012 Now, I get it. The producers of CASTLE are busy throwing a massive monkey wrench into the whole Castle/Beckett couple thing to ratchet up the drama for the next six weeks so that they can have a massively explosive season finale/cliffhanger and they still won’t let Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) get together even after that because they’re still stuck in the whole relationship equals […]Read On »

TV Review: ONCE UPON A TIME – Season 1 – “The Stable Boy”

Barbara Hershey and Noah Bean in ONCE UPON A TIME - Season 1 - "The Stable Boy" | ©2012 ABC/Jack Rowand

Stars: Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Robert Carlyle, Lana Parrilla, Jared Gilmore, Josh Dallas, Raphael Sbarge, Eion Bailey Writer: Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz Director: Dean White Network: ABC, Sunday nights, 8 p.m. Original Telecast: April 1, 2012 One of the things I have loved most about ONCE UPON A TIME is that characters like The Evil Queen (Lana Parilla) have real reasons for being evil. Note, I didn’t say good reasons, after all, good reasons take the stuffin’s out of being evil and that can put a nasty hit on your cred as an evil character, but in “The Stable Boy,” we finally see where Regina gets it all, too. The episode […]Read On »

TV Review: CASTLE – Season 4 – “47 Seconds”

Molly Quinn in CASTLE - Season 4 - "47 Seconds" | ©2012 ABC/Karen Neal

Stars: Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic, Susan Sullivan, Molly Quinn, Tamala Jones, Seamus Deaver, Jon Huertas, Penny Johnson Jerald Writer: Shalisha Francis Director: Paul Holahan Network: ABC, Monday nights, 10 p.m. Original Telecast: March 26, 2012 ABC has been teasing the whole “I remember getting shot,” thing since last week’s episode, so you kind of go into “47 Seconds” expecting a more intense episode of CASTLE, which you sort of have. Just as a quick recap, the memory thing comes from last season’s cliffhanger finale, in which Det. Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) got shot, and Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) held her and finally declared his […]Read On »
