12 MONKEYS, now in its second season Monday nights on Syfy Channel, is based loosely on the 1995 film. In both, a man named James Cole (played by Aaron Stanford in the series, Bruce Willis in the movie) travels from the near future to the past. In Syfy’s series 12 MONKEYS, which has its first-season finale Friday, April 10 at 10 PM and will be back next year with Season 2, Aaron Stanford stars as James Cole, who travels from a plague-devastated 2040 back to 2015.
