“Hazing,” the term for initiation rites to college fraternities and sororities, is viewed by many as a stressful but playful rite of passage. Instead, it is often violent, humiliating, sometimes even lethal. HAZING, a documentary by filmmaker Byron Hurt, premieres on PBS’s INDEPENDENT LENS on Monday, September 12.
