Set in 1864 New York, most of BBC America’s COPPER, which has its first-season finale Sunday night at 10 PM, takes place in the mean streets of the slums of the Five Points neighborhood. Occasionally, however, the action moves to the wealthy enclaves of Manhattan, where policeman Kevin “Corky” Corcoran (Tom Weston-Jones) has contacts. Among Corky’s high-society associates is Elizabeth Haverford, played by French-born/London-raised actress Anastasia Griffith. LONGMIRE is A&E’s new contemporary Western procedural based on the mystery novels by Craig Johnson, airing Sundays at 10 PM. In it, we see that Absaroka County, Wyoming, has a lot of crime for such a sparsely populated expanse. Robert Taylor’s character Sheriff Walt Longmire is in charge of maintaining local law and order with the help of his deputies. Showtime’s dark comedy series WEB THERAPY, which just wrapped up its first season on SHOWTIME, started life (appropriately enough) on the Web in 2008 before making the jump to premium cable. The show deals with Fiona Wallice, played by series co-creator Lisa Kudrow, who has re-invented herself as a therapist who does sessions in short bursts over the Internet.
