This poses a unique challenge for both the TV creative staff and the videogame personnel. DEFIANCE executive producer/co-creator/show […]Read On »

THE STRAIN creator Guillermo del Toro on his new nasty vamp series

Jack Kesy as Gabriel Bolivar in THE STRAIN | © 2014 Michael Gibson/FX

FX’s new series THE STRAIN, Sundays at 10 PM, brings horror back to the vampire mythology. Forget the charmers of TRUE BLOOD, BEING HUMAN, et al, or even Bela Lugosi – these things are hideous, terrifying and breeding like Ebola virus. Worse, they’re in New York City. Center for Disease Control researchers Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and Nora Martinez (Mia Maestro) want to combat the plague, but so far aren’t sure how to do so; pawn shop owner Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley), who’s had experience with the creatures before, and city exterminator Vasily Fet (Kevin Durand) may have some ideas. Benedict Cumberbatch stars in SHERLOCK on PBS | © 2014 PBS

SHERLOCK is back on the case in his third season on PBS, Sunday at 10 PM, albeit too briefly for most fans – this Sunday’s episode, the third of the current series, is also the season finale. With Benedict Cumberbatch as the famous detective who faked his own death at the end of last season and Martin Freeman as the often irate but loyal and smart Dr. John Watson, series creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss’ present-day take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s London sleuth has its viewers begging for more. SHERLOCK is back for its third season on PBS, Sundays at 10 PM, and not a moment too soon. The series, created by Mark Gatiss & Steven Moffat from Arthur Conan Doyle’s detail-oriented British detective character, has been much missed by its fans during the long gap since the end of Season 2, which saw Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock apparently falling to his death from a rooftop, much to the grief of his friend and detecting partner Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman). Now Sherlock is back – with an explanation of how and why he disappeared for two years and fooled […]Read On »

There’s a bit of a history starting with Russell T. Davies run on WHO, of having sad Christmas episodes, and the latest offering “The Time of the Doctor” is certainly no exception. “Time” is the final part of the “of the Doctor” named episodes, and I really […]Read On »

Interview: Felicity Jones is THE INVISIBLE WOMAN

Felicity Jones in THE INVISIBLE WOMAN | ©2013 Sony Pictures Classics

Although THE INVISIBLE WOMAN is the title of the new feature film directed by Ralph Fiennes and scripted by Abi Morgan from Claire Tomalin’s book, that’s now how we see its female protagonist Nelly Ternan, played by Felicity Jones. “I am the visible woman,” declares Jones with a laugh. The film has Jones playing Ternan from the age of eighteen, when she meets Charles Dickens, played by director Fiennes, through her thirties. The bulk of the movie is about how the eventually intimate relationship unfolds between young Nelly and the much older, famous and married author in 1800sEngland. Jones, originally […]Read On »
