FilmDistrict held the World Premiere of THE RUM DIARY, October 13th at LACMA in Los Angeles. This was part of Film Independent at LACMA. THE RUM DIARY is based on the debut novel of Hunter S. Thompson and tells the story of itinerant journalist Paul Kemp (Johnny Depp). Fed up with the noise and madness of New York he travels to the pristine island of Puerto Rico to write for a local newspaper, The San Juan Star. Tri Star Pictures and ,held the Los Angeles World Premiere of SOUL SURFER at the ArcLight Cinerama Dome on March 30th. The carpet and backdrop was blue like the ocean with a spot that had sand and surfboards.  SOUL SURFER is the true story of teen surfer Bethany Hamilton (portrayed by AnnaSophia Robb), who lost her arm in a shark attack. Her horrific story was covered by news media worldwide, but through her determination and faith this amazing girl became a champion once again and beat all odds that were against her.
