The 2013 EyeGore Awards were held at Universal Studios, in Universal City, CA  on September 20 to kick off the park’s annual HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS event. This year’s mazes include such movie-inspired scares as EVIL DEAD and INSIDIOUS, as well as AMC’s THE WALKING DEAD. Of the original mazes, there’s BLACK SABBATH 13 in 3D which incorporates music and imagery inspired by the band fronted by Ozzy Osbourne as well as El Cucuy: The Boogeyman with some inspiration courtesy of actor Danny Trejo being the face of this attraction. Universal Studios Hollywood held the Annual EYEGORE AWARDS in celebration of the opening of HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS recently. The EYEGORE AWARDS honor horror genre’s top stars and filmmakers. This year’s EYEGORE AWARD honorees included Oscar-nominated Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro (HELLBOY and PAN’S LABYRINTH), Chad Michael Murray (HOUSE OF WAX), GRIMM stars Silas Weir Mitchell and Bitsie Tulloch accepted an award on behalf of the NBC’s hit series, Angelica Maria and Angelica Vale – the mother-daughter duo accepted the award for their role in MUJERES ASESINAS 2 (FEMALE ASSASSINS 2). EyeGore Awards announces 2011 winners as Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights launches

The 2011 EyeGore Awards were held at Universal Studios Hollywood on Friday night – just as Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights kicked off its annual haunted park event. Corey Feldman hosted the event with a CHILDREN OF THE CORN-esque stage backdrop providing fodder as a scarecrow proved to be Feldman’s comedic foil throughout the night. David Arquette won for his role in the SCREAM movie franchise. After accepting the award from his friend Thomas Jane, Arquette said, “I love the support of horror fans and the things they love.
