Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer Films held the U.S. Premiere of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES at the Dolby Theatre, May 18th in Hollywood. The carpet ran down Hollywood Boulevard to the entrance of the Hollywood/Highland Complex and up to the entrance of the Dolby, which was lined with fans, as a matter of fact fans were everywhere on the street and the lucky ones got to be right on the carpet to see the stars up close. Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer Films held the World Premiere of THE LONE RANGER at Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland in Anaheim on June 22nd. Recently Lionsgate and Millennium Films held the World Premiere of THE EXPENDABLES 2 at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. It was the usual scenario at the premiere – street closures, fans lined the street screaming when the stars arrived and tons of photographers and electronic press lined the black carpet. Recently Columbia Pictures held the Los Angeles Premiere of TOTAL RECALL at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. TOTAL RECALL, which is now playing, is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick. Colin Farrell assumes the role made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1990 TOTAL RECALL. Regency Enterprises celebrated the Los Angeles Premiere of IN TIME, October 20th at the Regency Village Theater in Westwood. The concept makes me think of the 1976 film LOGAN’S RUN, which starred Michael York and Jenny Agutter where life ended at 30 in the Carousel. Disney•Pixar held the World Premiere of CARS 2 at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on June 18th. Hollywood Boulevard was transformed into the World Grand Prix between Highland and Orange. Life-Size remote-controlled cars of Lightning McQueen, Mater and Finn McMissile came down the black carpet, which looked like a racetrack. The backdrop was so cool as, like the movie, cars looked liked they were sitting in the stands. The press section was built on a riser so we looked down onto the carpet. Arriving at Disneyland at 4:00pm the press gathered in the Media Center, which was located inside the Mr. Lincoln’s Theater at the beginning of Main Street.
