On July 29th a big party was held by CBS/The CW/Showtime for the Television Critics Annual Summer Press Tour at The Event, which is actually the upper parking lot where the department store Robinson’s/May in Beverly Hills used to be. Taking pictures before heading inside it was quite a turnout of stars from the three networks of their new shows and returning shows of the three networks CBS, The CW and Showtime. I probably missed a few as I went in as soon as the cast from the CW new show THE ORIGINALS, a spin-off from THE VAMPIRE DAIRIES walked […]Read On »

Aidan, played by Sam Witwer, is a vampire. Josh, played by Sam Huntington, has been a werewolf (more about that in the upcoming interview with Huntington). TV Review: SUPERNATURAL – Season 7 – “Repo Man”

Stars: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Mark Pellegrino, Russell Sams, Nicole Oliver Writer: Ben Edlund, series created by Eric Kripke Director: Thomas J. Wright Network: The CW, Fridays @ 9 PM Original Airdate: February 17, 2012 The standalone plot of SUPERNATURAL’s “Repo Man,” scripted by Ben Edlund, dovetails nicely into the arced storyline, featuring Sam (Jared Padalecki) being continuously bedeviled by his visions of Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino). The thematic resonance between the two works well, and having a recurring smartass along for the ride, especially one as insinuatingly menacing as Pellegrino’s Devil in Chief, works even better. TV Review: SUPERNATURAL – Season 7 – “Hello, Cruel World”

Jim Beaver in SUPERNATURAL - Season 7 - "Hello, Cruel World" | ©2011 The CW/Jack Rowand

Stars: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Jim Beaver, Misha Collins, Mark Pellegrino, Kim Rhodes, Cameron Bancroft, Benito Martinez Writer: Ben Edlund, series created by Eric Kripke Director: Guy Bee Network: The CW Original Telecast: September 30, 2011 The SUPERNATURAL episode “Hello, Cruel World” has a lot to recommend it. For starters, the script by Ben Edlund makes diabolically clever use of recycling Dr. Sexy (remember that character?) as a way of providing a hilarious/horrific misinterpreted mission statement to a monster, and by bringing back grumpy but plucky ally Sheriff Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes), not to mention Mark Pellegrino’s oh-so-relaxed Lucifer. Where […]Read On »

Castiel then demanded that the Winchester brothers, Sam (Jared Padalecki) – who had just […]Read On »
