Warner Bros. Pictures held the Los Angeles premiere of HER on December 12th at The Directors Guild of America. It was a small premiere with the stars and a few guests. Half of the photographers were outside and the rest of us inside, and since it was such a cold night I was happy to be inside the lobby. Yesterday the Athena, GA rock band R.E.M. consisting of singer Michael Stipe, bassist Mike Mills and guitarist Peter Buck called it quits after a little over 30 years as a unit. Their blend of jangly guitars and socially conscious lyrics made them a fringe alternative band throughout the 1980s until they finally broke out with 1987’s “The One I Love”.
