According to a 2022 YouGov poll thirty-four percent of Americans believe that UFOs are proof of extraterrestrials visiting Earth. Others believe that these are flying objects that our government won’t (for security reasons) or can’t identify. Still others don’t know what to think. Planetary scientist Dr. Linda Spilker and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) scientist Dr. Tom Spilker both worked on the Voyager space exploration project, sending two unmanned spacecraft beyond the boundaries of our solar system, which is examined in PBS NOVA’s THE FARTHEST – VOYAGER IN SPACE. Linda Spilker continues to work on the Cassini mission, exploring Saturn, its moons and its rings, documented in PBS NOVA’s DEATH DIVE TO SATURN. TCA News: Is PBS becoming the new HBO with quality hits like DOWNTON ABBEY?

PBS kicked off the Winter 2012 Television Critics Association this week with its executive session with President and CEO Paula Kerger.
