In screenwriting lore, there is a character often referred to as “Morris the Explainer.” This is the person who shows up in the story to deliver the exposition that there’s just no other way of providing to either the other characters or the audience. In SMILE 2, which opened in theatres on Friday, October 18, that character is literally named Morris. Played by Peter Jacobson, he’s the one who relates the workings of a malevolent supernatural entity to troubled pop star Skye Riley (Naomi Scott). We first encountered the viral curse demon in 2022’s SMILE which, like SMILE 2, is […]Read On »

Exclusive Photos from the CARS 2 World Premiere

Disney•Pixar held the World Premiere of CARS 2 at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on June 18th. Hollywood Boulevard was transformed into the World Grand Prix between Highland and Orange. Life-Size remote-controlled cars of Lightning McQueen, Mater and Finn McMissile came down the black carpet, which looked like a racetrack. The backdrop was so cool as, like the movie, cars looked liked they were sitting in the stands. The press section was built on a riser so we looked down onto the carpet. It had a start and finish line at each end, plus giant flags representing the internationals […]Read On »

Stars: Hugh Laurie, Lisa Edelstein, Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps, Jesse Spencer, Olivia Wilde, Peter Jacobson Writer: Eli Attie Director: Daniel Attias Network: Fox, airs Monday nights Original Telecast: September 27, 2010 Did we get our first real HOUSE episode of the season? Not to knock the season premiere, “Now What?” (which was good but hardly resembled a HOUSE episode), but “Selfish” showed us that Huddy and HOUSE can coexist and in fact make for some darn good television. To be honest, that was what was on the line this week: whether HOUSE can truly pull this off or if, […]Read On »

Huddy (House + Cuddy for you folks out there not in the know) is happening, and to be honest, I’m not sure how I feel about that as HOUSE enters its seventh season. I suppose it would have been utterly ridiculous to have House (Hugh Laurie) and Cuddy’s (Lisa Edelstein) encounter be another hallucination or a dream or any other DALLAS type ending. At […]Read On »
