Jonathan Littman supervises the television arm of Jerry Bruckheimer’s production company. Both men are executive producers on Fox Network’s LUCIFER. LUCIFER, in its first season on Mondays at 9 PM, is based on the comics by Mike Dringenberg and Sam Kieth, spun off from Neil Gaiman’s original SANDMAN. DC Comics is doing very well on television right now, with ARROW entering its third season on The CW, and two new series, Fox’s GOTHAM and The CW’s THE FLASH, launching this fall. THE FLASH, which premieres Tuesday, October 7 at 8 PM, takes its title from the alter ego of upbeat young police forensics investigator Barry Allen, played by Grant Gustin. Julie Plec has her hands full executive-producing series for the CW. She’s still on THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, the series she and Kevin Williamson developed from L.J. Smith’s novels, now entering its fifth season Thursdays at 8 PM. It was a bittersweet night for writer/executive producer James Duff. THE CLOSER, the series Duff created starring Kyra Sedgwick as Brenda Leigh Johnson, a Southerner who comes to Los Angeles to be Deputy Chief of the LAPD, finished its seven-year run last night on TNT. Immediately afterwards, the new series Duff created, MAJOR CRIMES, headed up by Mary McDonnell reprising her CLOSER character of former Internal Affairs operative Sharon Raydor and featuring much of THE CLOSER’s cast, had its series premiere on TNT. On September 10, Bing presented THE CW PREMIERE PARTY on the Warner Bros. Lot in Burbank, outside the Steven J. Ross Theater.
